GEORGE F. BARNES

March 5, 1960 - December 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden, peaceful, passing of our beloved father George on Monday December 1,2025 in RedDeer, Alberta.

George was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan to Joyce(Noreen) and Harold Barnes. He grew up in Elkhorn Manitoba. George had three children that he loved very deeply. He spent many years managing courier and delivery companies across sask. and man. Many knew George as the "Milk Man or Ice cream Man" He had a very generous heart and a big personality. He loved to chat, laugh, and make people smile. His love for the mountains and the outdoors brought him to Alberta, where he later called home. George enjoyed camping, fires, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He hated the cold winters, but loved a warm summer day enjoying his flowers.

He lived simply, he loved deeply, he will be greatly missed.

George is survived by his loving daughter and son and his six grandchildren.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Sit here heavy hearted thinking about my best friend and what to say. - Remember wondering around home town Elkhorn and when not wondering playing pool in my parents basement drinking beer and whiskey. Someone had to make sure it was fresh. - Also when George came to visit me in Edmonton, think in 1980. Talked about doing a road trip so we drove to Anchorage, Alaska, had pizza and turned around and came back. I was only late 3 hours for work on Monday but road had washed out on return trip. - Got together the last couple years and enjoyed BBQ on his deck when possible. Talked about good old days and some how talked about doing the VIA train ride across Canada. Guess will have to plan to that trip and take him for the ride in my heart. - Know he Loved his Kids and Grandchildren as he talked about them. He will/is missed deeply. Love to all his family. - Posted by: JOHN C HERITAGE (Friend) on: Dec 13, 2025
